La Grotta Beach (Paleokastritsa)
WHY YOU’ LL LOVE IT
A fantastic all-day spot for swimming and sunbathing, sipping drinks and, especially in the evening, fine dining in Corfiot gourmet style, with dishes based on fresh, seasonal, local produce.
La Grotta Beach (Paleokastritsa)

Drawing in crowds of leisure-lovers and swimmers since the 1960s, La Grotta is a cave dug into a craggy bay and turned into a cafe/bar-cum-pretty swimming spot by the Rizos hotelier family. Especially glamorous at night, when one can sip a cocktail overlooking the emerald green sea lit up from within, during daytime the place regularly welcomes customers arriving there by boat (or even paddle boat and canoe) for a swim and refreshments. The other way to reach La Grotta – by walking down 142 steps – is a little more challenging, but still worth it.
